Voyageur Books & Gifts
Books, Gifts, Educational Toys, Office Products (computer accessories), Art Prints, Business Serivces including faxing 7 photocopying (black& white)

Don and Liz MacKay welcome you to Atikokan. We operate Voyageur Books & Gifts as a family owned business, to share our love for reading, art and the outdoors with our neighbours, friends and guests.
We have lived in the Northwest for nearly 40 years and been in this business the past twenty. Recently, we expanded our bookstore and now feature a great selection of Northwestern Ontario titles, both historical and nature-oriented, to complement our book selection. We are particularly proud of our children's and young adult collection which we think will intrigue your kids during those long car rides.
Our seven young grandchildren are the “testers” for the books, clothes and educational toys that we carry, while our friendly, knowledgeable staff check with their teens to keep up to date on tween and teen preferences. Every summer we sell lots of fudge, postcards, flags and souvenirs of Atikokan and Canada and so we always keep them in stock. We have unusual hand-painted ornaments by First Nation’s artists including Maxine Noel, Rick Beaver, Dawn Oman and Benjamin Chee Chee.

An other great souvenir to take home is one of our many Inukshuks.  We have given some of these figures a distinctive Northwestern Ontario personality producing them from amethyst mined in this region and designed by Northwestern artists Louise Boardman and Joanne Gavin.

We are proud to distribute the music of Rodney Brown, Northern Ontario’s “Troubadour of the North”.  Come and examine our aboriginal and wildlife prints and crafts, including original ink drawing on birch bark and canvass art by Atikokan Metis Artist, Kristy Cameron.  We also carry a selection of Jack Black's Pottery and unusual pictograph raku.

Of course we have some of those items which make a trip worthwhile including nearly 20 varieties of fudge, chocolate pizza, truffles, cowtails, dippers and many other specialties. We keep a broad range of business supplies and computer accessories including printer cartridges and cables for your laptops.
